ACTIVITIES

Ipperwash Beach is the perfect place to take in some of the world’s most beautiful sunsets. Spend a day at the beach or hike through the forests and sand dunes on the trail system. Whether you like to be active or just relax, everything you need is within walking distance, bike or a short drive from the resort.

 

BEACHIN'

Ipperwash Beach is one of the longest freshwater beaches in Ontario. The beach has shallow waters which is ideal for families. It is a 5 minute walk from the campground. There are 3 main access points to the beach just off West Ipperwash Road, Ipperwash Road, and Army Camp Road.

Grand Bend beaches are both quiet and very busy.  You can join the crowds and be at the Main Beach or relax at the South Beach. The North beach at the end of Main Street in Grand Bend is where you will find shopping, dining, and local attractions.

 

GOLF AND RECREATION

Lambton Shores has various courses to suit different skill levels. Because of the unique terrain of Lambton Shores, you will find that the landscape may challenge your game at times, but will always be easy on the eyes.

FISHING

The communities of Lambton Shores are home to the most diverse fish communities in the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority’s watershed. The nearby Ausable River Cut offers Channel Catfish, Walleye, and Smallmouth Bass. There are also migratory runs of Rainbow Trout and Chinook Salmon.

NATURE TRAILS

The Carolinian Forest and Dunelands cover over 500 acres and include a 172 acre Nature Reserve.  The Dunes & Swales Trail is 5.5 km, and winds through a Carolinian Forest of sand ridges and wet swales (passable on boardwalks). A variety of wildlife and wildflowers makes this trail a feast for the eyes in spring. The Cedar (Green) Trail is 2.2 km and features many cedar coves.

At the Pinery, just north of the campground, there is ten walking trails available for exploring. Each trail is designed to explore a different aspect of  the Pinery. Four trails have an accompanying trail guide and three are wheelchair accessible.
